Angela Hammelman, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away January 20th surrounded by the love of her family. Angela’s warmth, kindness, and bright spirit touched everyone who knew her. A devoted teacher, Angela made a lasting, positive impact on the lives of countless students. Her care, patience, and dedication in the classroom inspired young people to learn and to believe in themselves. At home, she was the heart of her family—the first call for her husband and children in moments of joy and their rock in moments of sorrow. She was an unwavering and enthusiastic supporter of her children’s passions, always cheering from the sidelines at Ryder’s robotics events and Lana’s cheerleading competitions. She was also an incredible friend. She had a rare gift for making people feel truly seen and valued, offering kindness, loyalty, and a listening ear whenever needed. Angela was preceded in death by her grandparents, Walter and Harriet, and Robert and Norma. She is lovingly remembered and survived by her husband of 22 years, Jeff, son Ryder, daughter Lana, parents Donna and Walter Atwood, siblings Ashley (Brian) Burmeister, Eric (Melissa) Atwood, and grandfather George (Judy) Lipovsky. Angela’s family and friends will cherish her memory — her sense of humor, her laugh, and all the selfless ways she made life better for those around her.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00pm, Thursday, January 29th at Newcomer Funeral Home (131 N. Canton Rd., Akron).
