Angela was born December 15, 1962, to Howard and Elouise Mitchell (Nelson) in Chicago, Illinois. Affectionately known as “Angie B” or “Ange” by her family and friends, Angela was caring to all those she encountered. Her personality always warmed the hearts of many. Her family often joked that she “never met a stranger” because no matter how short the conversation, it always resulted in a new acquaintance.
Ange was always the life of the party. Whether it was playing cards, Chicago Stepping to the classics, or hearing her infectious laugh, she made lasting memories at every gathering. Before leaving, she'd always love on everyone with a big hug and a kiss on the cheek that left her famous red lipstick. But most importantly she always said “I love you”.
Being a woman of faith, one of her favorite bible verses was Isaiah 40:31 “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” Angela used this faith to not only carry her through life, but also instilled these values in her children. As a servant of Christ, she valued being present for others. She was often the first person a friend or family member in need would call. Whether it was an intercession prayer, kind word, or something material, Angela would always help however she could.
Though her health began to diminish, Angela remained thankful for the blessings she had in life. Her strength to remain calm in times of stress, use wisdom in times of chaos, and still give love during times of anger, spoke volumes of who she truly was as a woman.
Angela leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband of 28 years, Raymond Frazier; daughters Keona, Portia and Aja; grandchildren Jeremiah, Keyawn, Andréa, Kynnedy, Dejah, Jaylen and Braylon; great granddaughter Isabelle; brother Tony Mitchell and many other nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws.
Though we will miss her earthly presence as a remarkable woman, loving mother, doting grandmother, and kind soul, we will continue to celebrate the love, joy, and kindness that were the essence of Angela’s being. She always reminded us that to be absent in the body is to be present with the Lord. We take great comfort in knowing she heard the words we all hope to hear “well done my good and faithful servant”.
A memorial service celebrating Angela’s exceptional life will be held on February 23, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. We invite all who knew and loved Angela to join us in honoring her memory.
