Andrew Slinkosky, 93, of Ellet passed away peacefully on January 19, 2015. Andy was born in Smoke Run, PA on December 8, 1921. He enlisted in the CC camps and later joined the navy. After the service, he was employed by Gus Girves of the Brown Derby and R&S Rest, retiring after working for many years for Harry Miller Construction. In addition to spending time with his loving Family he enjoyed bowling and golf and photographing many events and family. He will be remembered for his kindness and special way with people, making many friends. Wherever he went people remarked about him looking like a comedian (Foster Brooks). He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Anna, four brothers, and one sister. He is survived by his loving wife Bonnie of 55 years, his son Rick and wife Debbie of Ellet; grandchildren, Andrew and Halle; sisters, Delores, Mary, Elizabeth, and Kathryn; brothers, James and Adam; sisters in-law, Wanda Weekley and Judy (Ron) Finney, and numerous nieces and nephews. A special thank you to his caregiver Antoinette Barkley. Funeral service will be held on Friday January 23, 2015 at 2pm at Newcomer Funeral Home 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44305.
