Almarion Maddox

We are deeply saddened to share the loss of Almarion Maddox on Friday, June 26th, 2026. She lived for 86 years and left behind memories that will remain in the hearts of family and friends.

Almarion was born in Akron, Ohio to Hansel and Mae Rella Wesley on February 3rd, 1940. She was their first daughter and second oldest of five children. Almarion graduated from South High School then entered the workforce. As a hard worker, she held various jobs, but notably, she worked at BF Goodrich for over 20 years. She married Leonard Maddox in May of 1961. Though divorced, they remained lifelong friends and had two children.

With a fiery personality, Almarion was not a shy woman. She will always be remembered for her impeccable style and the care she took in her appearance. She also had an extensive collection of house plants that she cared for.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Hansel Wesley Jr. (Coopy); and son, Leonard Maddox Jr.

She is survived by her daughter, Lynette (Bryan) Oden; grandchildren, Leonard Oden and Bria (Jaylen) Latham; sister, Caroline (Ted) Lawhorn; brothers, Darrell Wesley and Reginald (Mickey) Wesley; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In accordance with Almarion wishes, no public services will be held. Thank you for understanding during this difficult time.
