Alice M. (Troutman) Howes, 85, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2025, surrounded by family. She was born on May 11, 1940, the daughter of the late Merle and Maude (Riemenschneider) Troutman of Atwater, Ohio. Alice retired after many years of dedicated service from Longmeadow Nursing Home in Ravenna as a cook. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting and ceramics. Many family members have enjoyed the many special baby quilts and ceramics they received as loving gifts. Alice loved to travel around the country with family and friends. Alice was an animal lover who enjoyed spending time with the family’s many pets. She had many achievements but her greatest was her love of her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Doris M. Pitts and Lillian M. Toth.
Alice is survived by her beloved sister Margaret M. Wilson, who is currently a resident of The Pavilion at Stow. She is also survived and will be greatly missed by niece Connie Toth and nephews Robert Pitts, Timothy Pitts, Dennis Toth and Thomas (Mary) Pitts as well as many great nieces and nephews, great-great niece, and nephew along with many cousins and friends.
The family wants to extend a deep heartfelt thanks to both Crossroads Hospice and the nurses at The Pavilion at Stow for their kindness and compassion shown during Alice’s final days.
Graveside service will be June 28th, 11:30am, at the Atwater Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Crossroads Hospice.
