Alice "Allie" K. Dean

Alice "Allie" K. Dean, 79, peacefully went Home to be with the Lord on May 10, 2026 with family by her side. Born in Murphy, NC to Horace and Georgia (Hayes) O'Dell, Allie and her family moved to Akron, OH when she was a young girl. She married her dear husband Paul on March 11, 1967. Allie enjoyed traveling, reading, her cats, cooking, cleaning, sewing clothes, teaching French and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, Allie was preceded in death by siblings, Barbara Bradley, David O'Dell, Mary Jansen. She will be deeply missed by her loving husband of 59 years, Paul R. Dean II; daughters, Beth (Loren) Frederick, Abbie (Scott) Renaud, Shari (Dan) Wright; grandchildren, Colin (Cheyenne), Alisa (Zachary), Alana, Chase, Matthew (Aly), Christopher (Jess), Maggie (Javen), Mollie (fiance, Garrett), Michael, Rachel, Laura, Jonathan (fiancee, Sam), Emily, Leah, Simon; great grandchildren, Benjamin, Cooper, Zoe, Paige, David, Kacee, Rainy, Paisley, Ava, Levi, Owen, Maxwell, Saylor; siblings, Marlene (Glenn) Vadnais, Dorothy (Scott) Hicks, Sam (Brenda) O'Dell, Winston "Tom" O'Dell; best friend, Susan Brown; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Family and friends are invited to visit Monday, May 18, 2026 from 12 noon to 1 p.m. at Newcomer, Akron Chapel, 131 N. Canton Rd. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Oakwood Cemetery. Those who wish may make memorial donations in Allie's name to Traditions Hospice or the animal shelter of their choice.
