Alfred Auvil

Alfred M. Auvil, "Uncle Al" 90, of The Danbury of Cuyahoga Falls, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2016. He was originally from Steubenville, Ohio, where he lived with his wife Selma Auvil until her passing in 2003. He was a veteran of the US Navy having served during WW II as a Navy Gunner on UBoat Surveillance Planes. He was a steelworker for Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel for over 30 years.

Alfred is survived by his niece and nephew, Martha and Joseph Giangiulio; niece, Gayle Benjamin; great nieces, Anne Marie (Stephen) Copek, Emily Giangiulio, Samantha (Jeffrey) Hamler, and Hannah Benjamin; great-great niece, Harper Hamler; and his best friend, Petie.

Friends will be received on Saturday, May 7, 2016 from 12 pm until time of funeral service at 1 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. He will be laid to rest at Union Cemetery in Steubenville, Ohio.
