Alex Porti III

Alex Porti III, of Key West and Fort Myers, Florida; Export, Pennsylvania; and Akron, Ohio, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2026, in Cleveland, Ohio, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 61.

Alex is survived by his mother, Sally Porti; sisters Cindy Wurtz (Doug) and Susan Cohen (Fred); seven nieces and nephews; four great-nieces and one great-nephew. He was dearly loved by his family and will be deeply missed. He was preceded in death by his father, Alex Porti of Akron, Ohio.

Alex had a kind, generous, energetic spirit and was always eager to help family, friends, and strangers. He could strike up a conversation with anyone using his sharp wit and sense of humor. He cherished his friends, loved adventure, and enjoyed spending time in the sun and sand.

An inventor and problem solver at heart, he started his business, Proper Parts, in 2006 to refurbish, design, and manufacture vintage auto parts that were no longer in production. He graduated from Rosedale Technical College and later developed his engineering skills by taking online courses offered by leading universities and working hands-on with his father, an electrical engineer.

The family would like to thank the physicians, nurses, and staff at University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center for their expert and compassionate care.

A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, September 25th at Chestnut Hill Memorial Park, 2613 Sackett Ave, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44223.
