Albert Volk, 81, passed away on February 16, 2026, surrounded by his sons and grandchildren.
Born on November 14, 1944, Al was a proud lifelong resident of Ellet until he enlisted in the United States Navy in August 1965. During his service, he earned the distinction of "Master at Arms" and received the "Good Conduct Award" for Fidelity, Zeal, and Obedience-recognition that reflected his strong character, discipline, and sense of duty.
After faithfully serving his country, Al returned home and began a long career with Acme, where he worked until his retirement. Al then resided in Mogadore for the last 30+ years.
Al had a deep love for sports, especially baseball. Whether coaching from the dugout or cheering from the sidelines, he was always his family’s most loyal supporter. He took great pride in maintaining his lawn and could often be found at his desk, keeping everything neat and organized. A devoted fan of Ohio State Buckeyes football, he never lingered long on a losing game. He especially cherished family vacations to Myrtle Beach and treasured the time spent with his children, grandchildren, and friends.
Al was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Catherine; his sister, Emma Lou; his brother-in-law, Jim; his uncle, Danny; and his aunt, Twila.
He is lovingly remembered by his brother, Rick; sister-in-law, Annie; his sons, Chris, Cyle, and Danny; his daughter, Dawn; his cousin, Monette; his nieces, Shannon, Dayna and Beth; his great-niece, Alicia; his great-nephew, Alex; and his cherished grandchildren, Grant, Brooke, Peyton, Paige, and Dawson.
Family and friends may call on Thursday, February 26th at 3pm -5 pm at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 26th at 5pm with Pastor John officiating.
