Alan J. Watson

Alan J. Watson, 85, passed away peacefully at home on September 2, 2026. Born in New London, CT to George and Alda (Holcomb) Watson, he resided in Northfield, OH most of his adult life. Al was a proud U. S. Air Force Veteran and he retired from Ohio Bell/AT&T after 35 years of service. He was a simple man who enjoyed reading, being outdoors, fixing & repairing anything, and spending time with his family and his dog Duke.

In addition to his parents, Al was preceded in death by his wife, Zelmia Watson; siblings, Judy Grandy, Dave Watson, Bobby Watson. He will be sadly missed by his daughter, Martha (Bill) Jones; grandchildren, Zack Watson, Katie Jones, Megan Jones; great grandchildren, Aubray, Gabe, MaKayla, Ava, Garrett, Kaiser, Langston; many nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

Everyone is invited to visit Monday, September 14, 2026 from 12 noon to 1 p.m. at Newcomer, Akron Chapel, 131 N. Canton Rd. The service will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial donations in Al's name to the American Cancer Society.
