Al H. Alexander "Hoss"
Al H. Alexander "Hoss", 75, of Akron, passed away suddenly on August 19, 2014. He was born in West Grove, PA on July 26, 1939 to the late Russell and Eula Alexander. Hoss retired from Americhem in 1980. He was an avid NASCAR fan. Above all, his greatest joy in life was being "Papa" to his two granddaughters. He devoted himself to his family and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Al was preceded in death by his brothers, Bill and Tom Alexander. He is survived by his loving wife, Pat of 51 years whom he married on August 24, 1963; daughter and son-in-law, Tammi and Scott McCloskey; brother, Wayne (Elizabeth) Alexander of Lehigh Acres, FL; sister, Susan Alexander of Cary, NC; granddaughters, Haley and Hope McCloskey; numerous nieces and nephews. He also leaves James Alexander of Virginia.
Family and friends may call on Sunday, August 24, 2014 from 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where funeral services will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. with Father Mike Williamson officiating. Interment at Granger Fairview Cemetery.
