In memoriam of John R Nelson Jr, who passed away on a somber May 27th, 2023, in University Heights, Ohio, United States. He was a man of many talents, born in Cleveland, OH, United States, on June 12, 1965, to Rose M Nelson and the late John R Nelson Sr.

With a heart full of courage and valor, John served his country with the United States Marine Corps, an honor he held close to his heart. From Japan, he earned the Rifle Expert Badge, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, and Meritorious Unit Citation. He was a true warrior, a knight of the modern world.

As he returned to Cleveland, John's passion for learning took him to trade school, where he became a Journeyman Floor layer. He continued to pursue his studies, earning his Associate in Applied Business in Accounting from Bryant and Stratton in 1992. He was a master of his craft, a Renaissance man of his time.

John's service as a Certified Sterile Processing Technician at University Hospitals Portage Medical Center was a testament to his kind and caring nature. He sat with patients in the emergency care department, showing care and concern, a true embodiment of Dr. Love.

John was a faithful member of the First Apostolic Faith Church, where he found solace in his faith. He enjoyed the game of chess, barbequing, cooking, bowling, marksmanship, gaming, and spending time with his family. He was a man of many passions, a true connoisseur of life.

John is survived by his loving wife, Charity Nelson; mother, Rose M Nelson; children, Carl Sterler-Nelson, John Nelson III, Demetrius Nelson, Christopher [Alanda] Davis, and Zion Turner; grandchildren, Jamari Hardges, Harmony Nelson, Carter Davis, Kionna Davis, and Christopher Davis II; siblings, Raymond Nelson and John A Nelson; niece, Aniyah Nelson; aunts, Robertha [Vernon] Powell, Lula Bell Stokes, and Mary Spencer; and a host of other relatives.

John R Nelson Jr's memorial service will be held on Monday, June 12, 2023 at 11:00 AM at First Apostolic Faith Church, 790 Easter Avenue, Akron, Ohio 44307.

His cremated remains will be placed into a niche at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, Ohio.
