I worked with Bob Dudley during the 1970s. I joined P&S Ambulance Service the day after I graduated from high school.
I had all the first aid and CPR training. But it was Bob who taught me how to be a Professional life saver! Rest in peace Bob!
~ John Smithkey III - April 14, 2023
Bob, was the first Paramedic on Suffield Fire Dept. I started my Ems and Fire career with him in 1976. He always the most professional and dedicated guy that I had ever known. We grew together as friends even after I left. He was one of my best friends I will miss him tremendously. R.I.P. MY BROTHER
~ Jeffrey Shaffer - April 12, 2023
I know the depth of love & respect everyone has for Papa. I told him many times that I was so thankful that my daughter married into the Dudley family. Our conversations meant a great deal to me. May he fly high & be at peace.
Xo to you all,
Chris Conkle

Thank you for all your years of dedication to the Suffield Fire Department. You definitely made an impact to the fire department and the community. You will be missed. I loved your Saturday morning visits and having coffee with us around the table.

I worked with Bob while I was part-time at Springfield then was partners on B-shift when I was hired full-time in 2007 until his retirement. Proud to have had the opportunity to have worked along side him as a partner and to have him as a mentor..... but mostly a brother & friend.
Rest easy friend.

It was a supreme pleasure knowing and serving with Bob. He was such an icon. My deepest sympathy to the Dudley family.

I had the honor of working with Bob on the Portage County Incident Management Team. What a true gentleman! He loved to talk about his family and his trips to see them. He was funny, knowledgeable about emergency response and all things fire-related and so very helpful as a mentor. We have missed him over the past year when he has not been able to attend meetings and have remembered him and his contributions. I am so sorry for your loss. What a wonderful person! You can be so proud of his decades-long contributions to his community and the fire service.

I first met Bob at the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company where he worked in the Fire department. I was a test driver, and the fire department was located behind our building. After Bob moved on from Goodyear, we would meet up again, along with his son Robert when we all worked for Lake EMS. Finally, I had the opportunity in 2000 when I hired into Springfield Township Fire department and worked with both Bob and his son Robert until Bob’s retirement in 2011.Throughout all those years, I also got to know the rest of the Dudley family and what sticks out most to me is the values that Bob instilled in his children. Those values they carry on with a mission to help others. Bob will be missed; however, I am sure that Bob is already helping others. My wife and I both send our condolences to the Dudley family.

We are so sorry for the loss of Bob. We have fond memories of him. He was always there for mom and dad Klepper. Always had a smile on his face. Loved his dedication to the Suffield area all those years. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and his extended family of the Suffield Fire Dept.

This is Dave Seese and his wife, Lois. We send our heartfelt condolences to you. Dave and your father have known each other for many, many years; went to Paramedic school together as they both were with Suffield Fire. We did not learn of your father's passing until I saw a post of the funeral procession that was posted. Your father dedicated his life to the community and we thank him. We will, of course, attend the service at Suffield Fire Dept April 29. We send you peace, love, comfort at this very hard time.
Sincerely, Lois Seese

Bob “Papa” Dudley created quite a legacy to follow in his footsteps. I have been blessed to know this true hero and icon of community service! Most importantly, he was a cherished friend to me and to everyone he met or personally touched in heart.
My prayers of comfort and condolences go out to his dear family and my sweet friends. Instead of praying for him, you can now pray to him.
Yours in Christ and love, Ted
