Steve A. Bertan, 82, passed away on March 15, 2023. He was born on September 12, 1940 the son of the late Steve and Margaret Bertan. Steve proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a man of faith and was an active member of St. Matthew Catholic Church where he served as an usher for many years. He continued helping others serving weekly senior meals at Ellet Community Center. Steve was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was always active and loved being with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife of 26 years, Susan Bertan; and son James Bertan.
Steve is survived by his loving family, sister Marie Wexler; step-children Patty (Chris) Stauffer, Becky (Fred) Geiger, Debbie (Corey) Marcolini, and Michael Kuhn; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; special friends Ed, Chuck, and Bernie for their care and love; and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 10:00 to 11:00am at St. Matthew Catholic Church (2580 Berne St. Akron 44312) where a funeral mass will be held at 11:00am with Fr. Michael Williamson presiding.
Interment will take place at Hillside Memorial Park.
