Joseph Michael “Joey” Moye, 28 years old, sadly passed away in a car accident on March 12, 2023.

He was born October 13, 1994 in Akron. Joey was a loving, caring son, brother and friend.

He attended Ellet High School. Joey enjoyed hanging out with his friends and play Xbox into the wee hours of the night. He would do anything to make people laugh. Joey was a foodie and enjoyed cooking, just like all Moye boys. He was always on a quest for great Chinese.

Joey had a love for baseball. In his younger days, he played the position of pitcher, catcher, and was known to hit balls out of the park. Joey was also a dreamer and was the protector of his family.

He is preceded in death by his father, George “Joe” Moye Jr. and his grandfather, George Moye Sr.

Joey is survived by his mother, Lottie Gainor (Dan); his brothers, Clayton Moye and Carter Moye (Natalia Rivera); his adored nephew, Remi Moye, who will especially miss his Uncle Joe Joe; special relatives, Fred and Robin Pitts; his grandparents, Lody and Violet Podvasnik and Fabiola Moye; many aunts, uncles, cousins and his dogs.

His family and friends will miss him dearly. He left this world too soon. Joey continued his generosity with the gift of life through organ donation.

As all of you know, Joey was very fond of his hoodies; in honor of Joey, please feel free to wear your favorite hoodie to the services.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 20, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, Ohio 44305.

Family and friends may visit on Sunday, March 19, 2023 from 2:00 - 5:00 PM, at the funeral home.
