Helen M. Johnson, 90, of Akron, passed away peacefully at her home on March 11, 2023. She was born on April 21, 1932 to the late Walter and Faye {Perkins} Dornon. In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Johnston, daughter, Judy Ogden, sisters Eileen Bobick, Carol Dornon, brothers Nelson Dornon and Beryl Dornon.

Helen is survived by her loving husband, Robert; daughters Janice (Victor) Martinez and Joetta Johnson; sons, Jerald (Sheila) Johnston and James (Susan) Johnston; step-daughter, Connie (Darrell) Grey; step-sons, Jeff (Sally) Johnson and Rick (Sandy) Johnson; son-in-law, Junior Ogden; sister, Katherine (Bob) Greene; brother, Meryl (Dorothy) Dornon; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Helen spent her life making a home and caring for her family. She was a member of various churches over the course of her life, though her faith was always grounded in her love of Christ and his teachings.

All are welcome to visit at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44305 on Friday, March 17th from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, March 18th at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Sheila Johnston officiating.
