Marie Evelyn McClure-Boyd of Akron passed away March 3, 2023 in Port St. Lucie, Florida. She was born September 20, 1941, a daughter of Raymond and Agnes McClure. Marie was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, William “Pat” Boyd, sister Norma Knoch, and brothers Gerald and Kenneth McClure. Marie is survived by her daughters Leanne (Scott) Hughes, Kelly Boyd, son James Glunt, granddaughters Lynnessa Hughes and Jessica West, and many nieces and nephews. Marie also leaves behind her dearest sister-in-law Marie McClure, and some very close friends including Bonnie Smith, Juanita Gehm, Kathy Bolyard, Marge Hinkle, Susie Motley-Bell, and Mickey King.

Marie was employed by B.F. Goodrich for over 40 years as a paralegal and was also co-owner of Pat’s Boats with her husband Pat Boyd who passed away on January 6, 2019. Marie loved to travel, bowl, read, play bingo, go boating, and loved to gamble. She had a sweet smile and an infectious laugh and was always ready to say I love you and give you a big hug. She gave our family an abundance of joy and love. Mom, we love you bunches and don’t ever forget it.

Family and friends are invited to visit Wednesday, March 15, 2023 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Newcomer, Akron Chapel, 131 N. Canton Rd. The funeral service will take place Thursday, March 16 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The American Heart Association, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, or Treasure Coast Hospice.
