Edward G. Wilkinson, 85, passed away December 4, 2022 at home with his family by his side. Born in Akron, Ohio to Jesse and Margaret (Fox) Wilkinson, he was a lifelong area resident. He was raised in the Baptist religion. Eddie graduated from Stow High School in 1956 and later served in the U. S. Army from 1958-60. He retired in 1993 from Cuyahoga Falls City Schools after 33 years of service, where he worked as a custodian at Preston Elementary School. He took great pride in providing a safe and clean environment for learning. On his first day of work he met the love of his life, Lois Jean Davis.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son Matthew in 2021. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 56 years, Jean; son, Scott (Joyce); grandchildren, Melissa, Ryan, Casey, Connor, Reagan; siblings, Lois Montis, Gary (Dorothy) Wilkinson, Tim Wilkinson, Phill Wilkinson (Ken McFarland); former daughter-in-law, Meghan Wilkinson; many loving nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to visit Sunday, December 11, 2022 from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at Newcomer, Akron Chapel, 131 N. Canton Rd. A celebration of life service will follow at 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Eddie's name may be made to Down Syndrome Association of NE Ohio (DSANEO).
