Evelyn Rose Bartell, 71, of Akron, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2022 at home. She was born on December 16, 1950 to the late Paul (Edith) Bartell and Dorothy {May} Olson.

In addition to her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by her brothers Paul Richard Bartell Jr. and Roy Phillips, aunt Evelyn Gifford, grandson Deontye T. Lott Jr., nephew James Slider, nieces Candy Sue Almaraz and Vicky Miller.

Evelyn is survived by her loving daughters, Laurie Amspoker and Jennifer Bartell; son Joseph (Karisma) Bartell; grandchildren Brady, Jeffrey, Jordan, Michael and April Bartell, Doryian Smith, Jerrica and Drequan Eddings, Trevona Amspoker-Davis, D'Ashontae, Shyontae & DaVeontye Lott; great-grandchildren Rylee Pearson, Jizell Shelby, A'Riyah Griggs, Ma'Siah Brown, Willie Shropshire III and Kai'ro Pryor; sisters Paula Carpenter, Dorothy Brownen, Martha Gantes and Sarah Howard; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Evelyn was the favorite aunt to all of her nieces and nephews. She lived life by her rules, and she was a free spirit. Anyone that met Evelyn, loved her.

Visitation will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44305 on Saturday, December 10, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. until the funeral service begins at 2:00 p.m. Following services, Evelyn will be cremated, per her wishes. To leave a message for her family, please scroll below.
