Lois M. Woody, 99, of Tallmadge, passed away on November 11, 2022. She was born in Transfer, Pennsylvania on March 7, 1923 to the late John and Marion Skamer. Her family moved to Akron when she was a child. After high school, Lois took a job with Bristol Company where she met John Woody, who would become her husband on August 4, 1945. Together they raised three children and remained happily married until John's death in 2003.

Lois was a dedicated wife and mother, taking pride in providing a comfortable, welcoming home for her family. She was a talented seamstress and enjoyed quilting. In later years, she loved gathering with friends and playing Bingo and crossword puzzles.

In addition to her parents and husband, Lois was preceded in death by her siblings, Jackie Hill and Ted Skamer; and grandson, Robert Scott Woody. She will be dearly missed by her children, Robert K. (Belinda) Woody, Sandra (Norm) Nitzsche, and Janet Vittitoe; siblings, Janet DeLoria and Stan (Patty) Skamer; grandson, Dan (Chris) Nitzsche; great-granddaughter, Audrey Leslie; many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 21, 2022 at 12:00 noon with visitation from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron.
