Earl A. Metzel Jr.
1931 - 2022

Earl A. Metzel Jr, 91, of Medina, Ohio, devoted husband of 64 years, passed away August 29, 2022, surrounded by family. He proudly served in the United States Army M.A.S.H. unit as a medic during the Korean War/Conflict. He enjoyed drawing and painting and was inspired by Bob Ross. He was entertained by his computer and puzzle books. He liked to watch antique collector programs and was always on the hunt for second hand treasures.
He was an avid antique/classic car enthusiast and loved going to car shows. He won many awards and trophies for his 1930 Model A Ford. He was fond of sitting on the porch and watching the wildlife in his yard while telling stories about catching frogs, lizards, and grasshoppers as a child.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Rose.
He is survived by his wife, Alice; his children, Brett (Denise), Patrick (Karen), Brian (Carolyn), Douglas (Mary), Lisa (Michael) Burkhart; his grandchildren, Amanda, Ryan, Bradley, Brian, Achilles, Douglas, Rachel, Aaron, and Avery; and great-grandchildren Logan, Lucas, Chase, Carter, Ryley, Holden, Ivy, Matthew, Penelope, Sophia, and Ares; brother, Howard (Betty, deceased), sister-in-law Effie, and many nieces and nephews.
Private service was held at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
The family invites you to sign the online guestbook and share fond memories.
