In Memory Of
Jerry E. Miller
1945 - 2022
Jerry E. Miller, 76, went home to be with Jesus on September 5, 2022, after enduring, with grace, a long illness. He was lovingly surrounded by his family as he joined in Heaven his parents, Denver and Edith {Dotson} Miller and siblings Denny Miller and Toby (Jim) Karras.
Jerry leaves behind his loving wife Linda; son Bill; daughter Christy; sister Melda (Mike) Fisher; sister-in-law Betty Miller; step-children Stefanie Bowman, Todd (Rachelle) Simmons; grandchildren Tyler, Tara and Hannah Simmons; and many close cousins, nieces and nephews. Special thanks to niece Missy Fisher Culver, who introduced Jerry and Linda 32 years ago.
Jerry was a proud East High grad and Vietnam Veteran, serving in the 167th Signal Corps and attaining the rank of Sergeant. Following his military service, Jerry was employed by B.F. Goodrich for 20 years, owned his own contracting business, and finally, retired from Hudson City Schools in 2012. Jerry was a long time member of The Chapel in Akron. What Jerry would most want you to know about him is that he was a born-again Christian (John 3:16).
Well-deserved military honors will be held at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery on Monday, November 7, 2022 at 12:45 p.m. FOR THOSE ATTENDING, please arrive at the cemetery no later than 12:25 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made in Jerry's honor to the Myositis Association at www.myositis.org, or to The Chapel at www.thechapel.life
