Erma Jane Knoblock, 100, passed away August 15, 2022. Erma was born in New Castle, Pennsylvania on September 23, 1921. She proudly served in the U.S. Army as a dental assistant and practical nurse. While stationed in Florida, she met Army Sergeant MP Joseph Knoblock. They married on October 7, 1944 and enjoyed 61 years together before his death in 2006. Joe and Erma enjoyed bowling together in a league for many years. Erma also loved to crochet and embroider. She created many lovely doilies and doll clothing that will be treasured by family members. She had a large collection of dolls and Swarovski crystal pieces Her favorite memories were spending time with her beloved family and friends.
Erma was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Knoblock Sr.; parents, William and Josephine Hoover; son, Robert Knoblock; siblings, Annie, Sara, and Samuel; and grandchildren, Joey, George, Krystle, and Jackie.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna (Larry) Johnston; son, Joseph (Vickie) Knoblock Jr.; grandchildren, Larry, Scott, Sherry, Joel, Dusty, Bobbi Jo, Emily, and George; ten great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 26, 2022 from 11-12 followed by a 12:00 noon funeral service at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
