In Memory Of
Terri L. Brown
1957 - 2022

Terri L. Brown, age 65 of Akron passed away late Sunday night August 14, 2022 at Hospice of Western Reserve in Medina, with her entire family at her bedside. She was the daughter of the late Ray and Nellie {Nichols} Ferrell.

In addition to her parents, Terri was preceded in death by her brother Rick Ferrell and brother-in-law George Spiroff.

Born August 1, 1957 and raised in South Lorain, Terri graduated from Southview High School in 1975 and attended Fairmont State University. Terri married in 1979 and her 4 children soon followed along with a move to Akron in 1984.

Terri worked for nearly 20 years at Dominion Energy as a customer service representative. She was also a proud member and union steward for Local G-555. She enjoyed working for the union immensely and did everything she could to make the workplace better for her fellow workers.

AKA DAWGETTE4EVER, Terri was a huge Cleveland Browns fan and was a season ticket holder for a number of years in the Dawg Pound. She also enjoyed watching every Pittsburgh Penguins game and every Ohio State football game she could get her eyes on.

As an animal lover, Terri participated in many Reverse Ruffles for the Humane Society of Summit County. As a dog lover, she couldn’t have a home without a dachshund and had as many as 9 at one time. She also rehomed multiple cats, so no animal was ever unwelcome in her home.

Terri’s biggest pride and joy was spending time with her 4 children, their significant others and her 3 grandchildren. Her family was the most important thing to her. She cared about all of them so very much and would do anything for them. None of them could have been spoiled anymore than they were by her. Terri not only spoiled them, but anyone with whom she was close. She was a mother to so many beyond her immediate family. Her selflessness knew no bounds.

Terri was a very unique and very special person. The joy that she brought to her family and everyone around her is irreplaceable. Her spirit will always be with those she affected.

Terri will always be loved by her husband of 43 years Dick Brown; children Seth (Christin) Brown, Stephanie (Shawn) Coss, Corey (Jess Hensley) Brown and Casey (Amanda Petzker) Brown; grandchildren Elianna and Gracelyn Coss, and Gabriella Brown; siblings Deborah (Randy) Harris, Michele Spiroff, Mike Ferrell and Sandy (Bill) Penman; and many extended family members and friends.

All are invited to visit at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44305 on Sunday, August 21 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., and again from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. There will be no formal service.
