Dorothy Eloise "Dottie" Toth
1929 - 2022

Dorothy Eloise Toth, "Dottie", age 93, went home to the Lord on August 4th, 2022. She was born in Minnora, West Virginia on February 6, 1929, but lived most of her life in Akron. She was born to the late Harley and Thelma (nee Westfall) Knotts.

As a humble and loving woman, she made a positive impact on everyone whose life she touched. Dorothy will be deeply missed by all and will always be in our hearts. She was a vivacious person who quietly enjoyed the company of others. Dottie was blessed with a graciousness of spirit, a dedication of service to others and a strong sense of right and wrong. She was kind, thoughtful and a devoted Christian woman. Dottie cared deeply for others and was a loyal supportive mother, wife, friend, sister and daughter.

For 50 years she was married to Stephen James Toth, Jr., who preceded her in death on September 19, 1995. She loved being a mom and did everything for her children.

She is survived by her children, Peggy Lincoln of Twinsburg, James (Darlene) Toth of New Franklin, John Toth of Akron and Sandy Toth of Chicago; her grandchildren, Wesley Keshtkaran, Amanda Lincoln, Jamie (Megan) Lincoln, Cindy (Kevin) Young and Mellony (Dave) Carver; and her great-grandchildren, Sara and Lily Keshtkaran, James Finney and Grace Lincoln.

Also surviving are her siblings, Mary Gunderson, Judy Dillon, Garnet Dorsey, Matthew (Vera) Knotts.

Other than her husband and parents, Dottie was preceded in death by her siblings, Phyllis Hale and Edgar Knotts.

Dorothy had a long career with Hutton Trucking Company serving as the impeccable bookkeeper. Later in life, she worked for Macy’s in the Woman’s World Department. She could fix anything and did carpentry work as a hobby. Dottie was blessed with a green thumb as she loved to garden, her favorite flower was the Iris. She attended Wedgewood Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron on Thursday, August 11, 2022 at 11:00 AM where family and friends may visit from 10:00 AM until the service time.
