Michelle Diane Hoover, "Shell", age 61 of Akron, Ohio, died on June 17, 2022 at Hickory Ridge Care Center.

She was born in Akron on April 29, 1961, the daughter of the late John Nicholas and Esther Lucille (nee Smay) Smith.

Michelle loved the outdoors and was a terrific artist. She worked in various positions throughout her life, such as a beautician, a bookkeeper, a comptroller and was a volunteer in her younger years. Michelle was a very funny, positive person and very quick witted. She always lit up a room. She was a beautiful woman inside and out, and was a Christian.

Survivors include her daughter, Amber (Nicholas Marcus) Hoover of Wellington, FL; her granddaughter, Coral Rae Marcus; her siblings, Valerie Smith, Vanessa Smith, Mark (Carol) Smith, Paula Hinkle and Jennifer (Larry) Smith-Gower; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She also has two special friends that were her rock, Susan Rosier and Brian Wilson.

Per Michelle's wishes, she will be cremated and there will not be any services or calling hours.

All arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Newcomer Funeral Home, Akron, Ohio.
