Ruth E. Dixon
1942 - 2022

Ruth E. Dixon, age 80 of Akron, Ohio, died on June 9, 2022 at her home.

She was born on February 9, 1942 in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was the eldest of four children born to the late Katherine and Cordell Curd.

Ruth was happily married to the late Everett Dixon.

After learning the wonderful truth about her Creator, Jehovah, she was baptized on December 15, 1990. Ruth was a faithful member of Jehovah's Witnesses. From her baptism until 2018 she attended the Taylor Congregation, then moved the to Akron Thornton Congregation.

For 31 years, our mother wholeheartedly served Jehovah. She enjoyed teaching the good news from the Bible. She helped several Bible students progress to baptism, start the first Mandarin Chinese Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses in Cleveland, Ohio and offered her support to anyone in need. In recent times of sickness, she had many lively discussions with relatives, home health aides, medical supply delivery people, hospice aides, and her special nurse, Grace, who she really liked.

Ruth did not meet any strangers. She was a social butterfly. She enjoyed cooking, music, dancing, board games and playing cards.

Survivors include her brother, William R. Curd; her children, Anita (Eddie) Hogan, Alicia Crosby-Jones, Michael Crosby and Ladye Crosby; her ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She leaves behind a host of dear relatives and friends.

The family of Ruth E. Dixon thanks you sincerely for your expression of sympathy and support, we deeply appreciate them and they are gratefully acknowledged.

Ruth was cremated and all arrangements had been entrusted to the care of Newcomer Funeral Home, Akron, Ohio.
