Joseph Anthony King II, 71, of Lakemore, passed away on May 3, 2022. Joe was born in Akron on May 9, 1950 to the late Joseph and Marion King. He proudly served in the U.S. Army with the Green Beret Special Services during the Vietnam War. Joe retired from a career in construction, welding, and long distance truck driving. He will always be remembered as a wonderful, caring person. His laughter and jokes will be missed by those who loved him. His greatest joy was being a father and grandfather and his legacy will live on through his children and grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his sister, JoAnn Campbell.
He is survived by his partner of 34 years, Cathy Stoltz; sister, Cathy King; his daughters, Angela Kelly, Monica (Dwight) McMasters, Jennifer King, and Shannon (Scott) Brinkman; stepchildren, Erich Mollohan, Ron (Missy) Stoltz, Lisa (Mark) Bernard, and Russell (Heather) Stoltz; grandchildren, Shawn (Stacy), Brittany (Travis), Brendon (Danielle), Zachery, Aubrey, Alana, Aiden, Gracie, Bradley, Haylie, Brooke, Alexis, Abigayle, Brittany (Chris), Taylor, Shaw (Ciara), Tylor, and Avery; great-grandchildren, Bryson, Emma, Aaron, Emma, Sawyer, and Teagan; and niece and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 19, 2022 from 10-12 followed by a 12 noon memorial service at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Following the service, Joe will be laid to rest with military honors at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
