Robert Floyd Bergey, "Bob", age 80, of Akron, Ohio, passed away on November 22, 2021 in Akron, Ohio.
He was born in Canton, Ohio on May 25, 1941, the son of the late Nelson and Stella (nee Park) Bergey.
Bob worked for the Akron City Schools for over 40 years as a custodian. He retired at the ripe young age of 50, going back twice because he was bored.
His main love was his family and his second love was visiting the casinos and traveling.
Bob was a kid at heart who enjoyed watching "The Three Stooges", cartoons and collecting clowns.
Survivors include his loving wife, Beverly Bergey, whom he married on July 16, 1988; his children, David (Jolene) Bergey, Steve (Kelly) Bergey, Kathy Bergey (Phil Hutchison), Michelle (Gregg) Samoly and Shannon (Mike) Dye; his granddaughters, Caitlin, Monica, Kristian, Melanie, Jessica, Rebecca and Bailey; and his great-grandchildren, Ryan, Hailey, Anthony, Dawson, Aaron "AJ" and Bryson.
Also surviving are his siblings, Linda Robinson, Kay Bennett, Eugene "Gene" Bergey, Jane (Cloyd) Bachus, Ron (Krista) Septer and Denny Septer.
Other than his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife's parents, Charles and Edith (nee Patterson) Septer; his son, Frank Mushisky II; and his granddaughter, Nicole Samoly.
Per Robert's request there will not be any calling hours and memorial services will be held at a later date.
All arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Newcomer Funeral Home, Akron, Ohio.
