In addition to her father, Gwen was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Troyer.
Gwen will be greatly missed by her mother Inez; daughters Sheryl (Chuck) Sklare, Debbie (Terry) Mackey and Marcia Doane; grandchildren Jordan (Anthony) Yacobucci, Jenna Doane, Mitchell Doane, Candie Barriault, Joseph Barriault, Craig Mackey, Jacki (Mike) McGarrity, Stephanie Miljak, Jacob Miljak; great-grandchildren Madison, Jamison, Devin, Maison, Jaxson and Rhyan; brother Earl E. (Donna) Walden, Jr.; brother-in-law Levi Troyer; nieces and nephews; dear friend Michelle.
Gwen retired from the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, after 28 years of service. She was a longtime member of Temple Baptist Church in Green, where she was a Sunday School teacher and volunteered in various programs. Sharing her faith was important to Gwen, and she often invited her loved ones to church, and took many children to Vacation Bible School each summer. Her faith, her heart and her unconditional love made her the rock of her family, and she will be greatly missed by all that love her.
All are welcome to visit on Tuesday, November 23 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron, 44305 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will take place on Wednesday at Temple Baptist Church, 1212 Greensburg Rd, Uniontown, OH 44685 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation one hour prior, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Following the service, a committal service will be held at Hillside Memorial Park, where Gwen will be laid to rest next to Paul.
