He was born on November 12, 1953 in Tunnelton, West Virginia, the son of the late Charles Lesley and Ruth Elizabeth (nee Hemerick) Knotts.
John was a veteran of the Army Reserves. John loved the outdoors and was an excavator and truck driver for several companies. He loved working on cars.
Survivors include his wife, the former, Loretta Braham, whom he married on May 3, 1973; his daughter Vanessa Diane (Douglas "Doug") Eubanks; his grandchildren, Erica Burkadt, Brandain Burkadt, Christian, Matthew and Ashley Bates; and several great-grandchidren, Aubree, McKinlee, Ram, Oliver, Ian, Juniper, Jackson, Lauraline and one on the way; and four step-great-granchildren, Savanah, Kyle, Brandon and Jason.
His siblings also survive, Donna (Kenneth) Hawkins, Charles (Judy) Knotts, Charlene (Marvin) Long, Vicki Long, Penny (Tommy) Bolyard, Trina Knotts and John's twin, Joseph Knotts; and several nieces and nephews, however one nephew, Christopher Knotts, was always there for his Uncle John.
Other than his parents, John was preceded in death by his son, Matthew John Knotts; and his three brothers, Larry, David and Bill.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, Ohio, Pastor Rob Cochran will celebrate John's life.
Family and friends may visit from 4:30 - 7:00 PM following services at the funeral home on Tuesday.
