Mary Gayle Alloway, 71, of Lakemore, passed away on October 6, 2021. She was born in Canton, Ohio on June 23, 1950 to the late Forrest and Hazel Myers. Mary loved spending time in her garden. She enjoyed all flowers, but daisies were her favorite. Mary always opened her home to family and friends and was known as the neighborhood mom. She loved to host meals but everyone knew to hold on to their plate or else she would clear it before you were done eating. She also marked every holiday with a card. Her Christmas cards were always the first to be received by her family and friends each year. Mary's family is sorry that her cards won't be the first ones mailed out this year. She was a wonderful mother, sister, and friend and will be truly missed by everyone who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Alloway; brother, Forrest "Chip" Myers; parents-in-law, Bruce and Helen Alloway; and brother-in-law, Chet Merrill. She will be dearly missed by her son, Michael Alloway (Karrie); sister, Karen Merrill; in-laws, Byron and Kathy Alloway; many special nieces and nephews; many close neighbors and friends from the Army/Navy Club.
Private services will be held for Mary's family. Please feel free to dress casually.
