Brandy Loraine Smith was born on August 4,1980, to the late Rhonda J. Stone, who preceded her in death, and Robert T. Stone Jr. in Akron, Ohio. Brandy passed away peacefully on Friday, October 1, 2021, in Atlanta, GA at Harbor Grace Hospice. She attended Kenmore High School where she was an exceptional student and extremely talented in Math and Music. Brandy graduated from Kenmore High School in 1998.
God orchestrated many and sundry events, opportunities and miracles in her life. As a young woman, she left Akron, OH and moved to Atlanta, GA to be with her family.
Brandy was a hard worker, loving daughter, mother, sister, cousin and friend. She loved her family and enjoyed coming home to attend family functions. Brandy had a big heart and a friendly personality; she was always the life of the party. She loved music, shopping and cooking for her family and friends. Her greatest love was being a mother to her son, Isaiah affectionately known as Zay-Zay. Together they shared a passion for music, cars and shopping.
Brandy was preceded in death by her mother, Rhonda J. Stone; grandparents, Odell Smith, Bobby Fikes, Robert T. Stone Sr. and Bernice Stone.
Brandy leaves to cherish her memory, her only child, Isaiah Stone; her father, Robert T. Stone Jr and stepmother Dakota Portis-Stone; sister, Sherece Smith; brother, Derrick Smith (Karman); stepsister, Brandie (Jerome) Johnson; stepbrother, Aaron Howlett; grandmother, Minnie Fikes; special aunt Angela Jackson (Terry); aunt Brenda Conley (Michael); aunt Delores Forshey (Gil); aunt Nola Hailstock; special cousin and best friend, John Bell III; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation for one (1) hour prior at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Morah Dakota Portis-Stone officiating. Interment at Glendale Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to 865 Greenwood Ave., Akron, OH 44320.
