Grace Elaine Knafel, 69, of Akron, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2021. She is now reunited with her beloved husband, Larry. She was born in Akron on February 12, 1952 to the late Walter and Mildred McDonald. Grace was a longtime member of St. Matthew Catholic Church in Akron. She loved spending time visiting casinos and playing the slots. Her biggest joy was her family. She especially loved being "Mucka" to her beloved granddaughters.
In addition to her parents, Grace was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Knafel; brother, Lawrence McDonald; and sister, Gloria Stewart. She will be dearly missed by her children, Ronald (Roxanne) Knafel, Kelli (Samual) Huff, and Ryan (Abby) Knafel; granddaughters, Livi Dambra, Zella Knafel, and Nora Knafel; brother, Walter "Chick" (CeCe) McDonald; brother-in-law, Ken Stewart; special nieces, Shelley Stewart, Jenny Stewart, Mackenzie, Camryn, and Rylie; and close friends, Candy Watson and Dan Stout.
Family and friends may visit on Sunday, September 19, 2021 from 3-6 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where funeral services will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
