Kathryn Marie Bowling, "Katie", age 90, of Tallmadge, Ohio, died on September 14, 2021 at her home.

She was born on February 15, 1931 in Berlin, PA, the daughter of the late John and Marie (nee Patrick) Altfather.

Katie had a bachelors degree in education and taught 3rd grade for over 35 years in the Cuyahoga Falls School System. She enjoyed gardening, antiques, cooking, SHOPPING and traveling. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

Survivors include her two sons, Jeffrey Bowling of Logan, Ohio and Thomas Bowling, with whom she lived; her granddaughter, Allison (Joe) Menendez; and one great-grandson, Owen Menendez, and twins on the way.

Other than her parents, Kathryn was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Bowling; and her son, Patrick Bowling.

The family wishes to thank to Crossroads Hospice and all of the caregivers who loved and cared for her during this most difficult time, in particular, Laura Welfrey, Megan Ballis, Brittany Calkins, Amber Balluh, Becky Mauk and Stephanie Denholm.

Graveside service will take place at Northlawn Memorial Gardens, 4724 State Road, Peninsula, Ohio 44264, on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at 11:00 AM.

All arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Newcomer Funeral Home, Akron, Ohio.
