Jack Andrew Scott, 93, of Akron, passed away on Saturday, July 24, 2021. He was born to parents Andrew Jackson and Sarah Elsie (nee Dennison) Scott on April 19, 1928 in Salem, West Virginia.

Preceding him in death are his two sons, Jack Andrew Scott, Jr. and Robert Scott.

Left to cherish his memory are his three daughters, Lynn (Mitchell) Greathouse, Kathryn Mathie, and Sherry Jones; grandchildren, Christopher Rhoades, Mandy (Jeff) Porter, and Aimee (John) Harris; great-grandchildren, Brandon, James, Justin, Sabastian, John, Maddox, Mason, and Alexia; sister, Mary Jo Finch; and daughter-in-law, Sharon Scott.

Jack was a carpenter by trade; he built his house and his prized possession, Jack’s Happy Landing, a bar that he had built from the ground up, known as the longest bar in Akron. He was also a 32nd degree Mason and business agent for Akron Carpenters Local for many years. He enjoyed a long and happy life, and could always be found laughing with customers.

A memorial service will be held for Jack on Friday, August 6, 2021 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron 44305 at 4:00 pm, with calling hours a half hour before the service. He will be laid to rest at Mt. Peace Cemetery in Hartville. There will be a celebration of his life immediately following at Jack’s Happy Landing, 641 Massillon Rd. Akron, 44306.
