Ernest A. Johnson, "Buck", age 66 of Ravenna, Ohio, died on June 15, 2021 doing what he loved to do at his hunting camp in Adamsville, Ohio.

He was born on September 21, 1954 in Grantsville, West Virginia, the son of the late Robert and Dorothy (nee Ayers) Johnson.

Buck was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and hunting. When he wasn't fishing or hunting, you could find him with his best friend of over 25 years, Arthur Croom. He was retired from Earl M. Jorgensen Steel in Bedford. His greatest joy was spending his valuable time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his loving wife, the former Sally Ann McCray, whom he married on July 12, 1980; his children, Jesse (Vickie) Johnson, Jerica Wright and Jeana (Tommy) Thomas; his grandchildren, Victoria, Gia, Emily, Brenden, Dylen, Andrew and Jorden; his great-grandchildren, Noelle, Nataline, Jace and Nichole; surviving too are his siblings, Carolyn Carr Knaus, Charles Johnson and James (Marcia) Johnson and several nieces and nephews.

Also surviving is his wife's father, Waldo McCray; and his wife's siblings, Paul Williams, Ernie (Patricia) Williams, Cathy (John) Carter, Gay Yeager, Darwin (Michele) McCray, Wally (Amy) McCray and Sammy McCray and all of their families.

Other than his parents, Buck was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Eva (nee Radcliffe) Price; and his brother, Robert Johnson.

Family and friends may visit on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron. Following visitation, Buck will be cremated.

There will be a CELEBRATION OF LIFE on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Buck's home.
