1933 - 2021

Harold "Hap" Morgan Shaver Sr., 88, of Akron, passed away April 26th, 2021. He was born on April 6th, 1933 in Kentucky to the late Roy and Agnes Shaver, his family moved to Ohio when he was 9, where he spent the rest of his life. Hap worked as a lab tech for Goodyear for 41 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and a member of the Wingfoot Bowhunters Club for many years. He loved his family and will be remembered as “Grandpa” to many.

In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Carol Welling Shaver; brother, Roy Shaver Jr.; and sister, Charlotte “Jean” Mollette. He is survived by his son, Harold “Hal” Shaver Jr.; granddaughters, Candace (Jeremy) Shaver and Tracy Pontius; 3 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to visit Saturday, May 8th, 2021 from 2-4 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home in Akron. A memorial service will follow at 4 p.m.
