Timothy F. "Tim" Shortt, age 73, of Rootstown, Ohio went home to be with the Lord on February 17, 2021. He was born in Akron on June 10, 1947, the son of John and Helen Shortt of Pennsylvania. Tim graduated from Garfield High School in 1966 and worked for Omnova Solutions Chemical Plant in Mogadore, Ohio for 40 years.

Tim loved the beach and would rather be there than anywhere. He enjoyed bowling from the time he was 5 and actively bowled for over 65 years. Hunting with his son, grandkids and friends was also one of his passions. Gardening and birdwatching were favorite pastimes passed down to his children and grandchildren.

Tim is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Debi (Hall) Shortt, and his loving children, Krista Shortt McFadden and husband Mark, and Timothy J. Shortt and wife Colleen. He was blessed with 9 grandkids and 3 great grandchildren.

Family and friends may visit at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. in Akron on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 from 2-4pm and 6-7pm with a small service at 7pm.
