It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Pamela H. Fitch. She passed quickly on November 25th, 2020 leaving us with a lifetime of cherished memories. Treasured mother and friend to so many, her thoughtful, supportive, and lighthearted nature will be fondly remembered far beyond her years on this Earth. She was very excited to the make her grand entrance in Heaven, just in time for the Black Friday sales.
She was 68, born September 11, 1952 to the late Robert and Betty {Ruttenberg} Hays. In addition to her parents, Pam was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Fitch.
Pam will be dearly missed by her sons, Justin (Joni) Fitch and Ben Fitch; grand-puppy Cooper Gene Fitch; and brother Jeff Hays. Her second act came as a grandmother to Cooper, whom she loved with the same passion as her own. She was able to spend the last seven years in Akron, with her sons close by.
Those lucky enough to meet Pam were graced with her spunky and spitfire allure. She had a quick wit and a robust personality that made her contagious to be around. She was charming and always had a way to brighten a room with her kindheartedness and compassion towards others….or perhaps it was her flare for fashion and the bling that she rocked as part of her self-proclaimed diva ways. #JUCP
Pam loved her friends that turned into family during her time teaching at the Coshocton County Career Center. She was passionate about her career and was a very gifted teacher. She adored the folks that she met along the way, including the students that she cared so much for.
In her free time, Pam enjoyed hustling the Bingo boards at Tower 80 apartments on Thursday nights with her friends, then celebrating her winnings with a trip to Cracker Barrel. More than the food, she loved the gift shop and could spend hours there. Pam also loved her overnight getaways to Columbus with her son Justin and his wife Joni, where wonderful memories were made. Alike, she spent many Friday nights with Ben, rolling through the mystery aisles of Menards, looking for the essentials needed for her next big home project- most often a bulk case of tissues or toilet paper.
We’ll miss her laughter and smile, and her endless love. We’ll miss her deviled eggs and our cherished family traditions. We’ll miss her calling us to check in… then calling us back a few minutes later because she forgot something. But most importantly we’ll miss her because there will never be another one like her. Pam was truly one of a kind, in all of the best ways possible. She was an unbelievable fighter and survivor, and even when life got difficult- she persevered.
Per her wishes, cremation has taken place, and Pam will be laid to rest with her mother (Ma Hays) at Mount Peace Cemetery, Akron. A celebration of life service will follow as it becomes safe.
