Roger Dale Akers, age 71 of Canton passed away on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at his home. He was born in Akron on August 12, 1949 to the late Troy and Pauline {Horvath} Akers.
In addition to his parents, Roger is preceded in death by his brother Troy Dale "T.D." (Becky) Akers and brother-in-law Gary Zuchegno.
Roger will be dearly missed by his love, Charlene Schweyer; sons Ryan (Angie) and Aaron (Jennifer) Akers; step-daughter Debbie (Mike) Weidleman; grandchildren Adriana and Everett Akers, Karl Jr. and Ryan Painter; sisters Sandy Zuchegno and Cindy Akers Divil.
Roger was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He greatly enjoyed playing golf, and later in life, finishing jigsaw puzzles. Roger loved spending time with his family, especially his grandkids.
Per Roger's wishes, cremation has taken place, and he will receive well-deserved military honors at his final resting place, Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, sometime next spring. To leave a message for Roger's family, please scroll below.
