Lewis Richard Kidd, "Louie", age 69 of Akron, Ohio, died at his home on November 8, 2020.

He was born on September 28, 1951 in Canton, Ohio, the son of the late Opal and Gladys (nee Foster) Kidd.

Louie was a painter for most of his life and also was co-owner of Louie's Towing in Doylestown. He enjoyed fixing and painting cars and driving fast muscle cars. He also enjoyed his Harley. His greatest joy was his family, spending time with them and his animals, his dogs, Ottis, OJ, Tasha, Star, Daisy, Zoe, Becky and Lucy, and his pet duck, Princess.

Survivors include his wife, the former Wendy Potter, whom he married on August 11, 1997; his children, Jeffery Kidd, Mindy Kidd, Cory (Tiffany) Potter and Kayla Potter; his grandchildren, Karissa (Quinn) Dickey, Chloe (Alec) Alderman, Katie Kidd, Kyler Kidd, Jaden Kidd, Ally Pinkus, Ashton Snyder, Isabelle Potter, Olivia Potter and Nova Holden; and his four great-grandchildren.

His siblings also survive, Bertha Leasure, Charles (Patty) Kidd, Etta Brown and Ralph (Mary) Kidd; his former wives, Pearl Kress and Jacalyn (Ron) Miller.

Other than his parents, Lewis was preceded in death by his sister, Kathryn Poole and an infant sister.

Memorial services will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, on Friday, November 27, 2020 at 1:00 p.m.

Family and friends may visit one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

For those of you attending we ask that YOU ADHERE TO SOCIAL DISTANCING AND WEAR A MASK.

His cremated remains will be interred at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery as Lewis was an honorably discharged US Marine serving during the Vietnam War.
