James Earl Kozy, 84, of Tallmadge, Ohio went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, October 21, 2020. Jim was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend.

Jim was born in Akron, Ohio. He graduated from Garfield High School, Class of 1954. He worked in the Purchasing department at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, retiring as a Global Senior Buyer after 45 years of service. Jim served as a Trustee at Brown Street Baptist Church.

Jim enjoyed singing in the church choir and gospel quartet. He loved watching sports, playing baseball and basketball. Jim loved to fish and go on fishing trips in Canada. He attended church regularly and enjoyed reading his bible. He was known for his quick wit and would constantly tease those he cared about. His greatest joy was spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Steve and Mary Kozy; brother Steve Kozy; sisters Esther Newman, Grace Harkins, Evelyn Horvath, Betty McCauley (twin sister) and Linda Silvio; son Baby Boy Kozy; daughter Carol Ann Kozy; and great-granddaughter Evelyn Grace Kozy.

Jim is survived by his wife of 63 years, Shirley Kozy; son Jim Kozy (Kim); daughters Diane Mulhollen (David), Patricia Thomas (Doug), and Susan Kozy; grandchildren Stephen Kozy (Brittany), Jimmy Kozy (Emily), Rebecca Sacramone (Chris), Emily Mieden (Joe), Lindsay Mulhollen-Hines (Brian), Mark Mulhollen, Daniel Thomas (Rachel), Leanna Thomas, Andrew Thomas; great-grandchildren Zachary Kozy, Matthew Kozy, Hollis Kozy, Elliott Kozy, Alaina Kozy, James Kozy, Drew Mieden and 2 more on the way!; sisters Jean Fender, Judy Anderson and brother Dave Kozy.

Jim was loved very much and will live forever in our hearts!

Calling hours will be held on Monday, October 26, 2020 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, OH from 5pm-7pm. A private funeral service will be held at a later time. He will be laid to rest at Hillside Memorial Park in Akron, OH.
