March 3, 1929 - February 16, 2020
This world is not my home, I’m just passing through and she touched many many lives while doing so. Lavonne stepped into her Savior’s loving arms on February 16, 2020 at the age of 90 after a brief illness. Lavonne spent many years as a cook in the Akron Public School System. She had such a tender heart that she would buy gloves and hats for the kids who needed them.
Proceeded in death by her father and mother Lewis & Isa Winkleman and brothers Ray and Don, she is survived by her sons Kenneth (Vicky), Paul (Luwona), Ed (Jackie) and daughter Diane Fox (Jack), 10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild, three sisters-in-law, Donna Woody, Joan Bader and Margie Winnie and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her precious cat, Shasta.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, February 20th at 11:00 AM at Crusade Baptist Church, 2982 Copley Rd., Akron, OH 44321. Pastor Justus Snow officiating. For her love of animals, in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Summit County Humane Society 7996 Darrow Rd., Twinsburg, OH 44087.
