Howard Barton, age 90 of Tallmadge, Ohio, died on December 4, 2019 at his home.

He was born on December 8, 1928 in Tomahawk, KY, the son of the late Greenville and Nancy (nee Mullett) Barton.

Howard was a trucker driver/tow motor operator at Norton Company and retired after 37 years of service. He enjoyed yard sales, going to Rogers Flea Market for 20 years every Friday, where he made many friends. Howard loved to travel and go to the camp in Parsons, West Virginia.

Survivors include his children, Susan (Brent) Colvin and Dwayne Barton; one granddaughter, Lauren (John) Bonasso; his two step-grandchildren; his great-grandson, Josiah Bonasso; and five step-great-grandchildren. His two siblings also survive, Ida (Fred) Butcher and Eugene (Nancy) Barton; he also leaves his dear companion of twenty plus years, Dorothy Kelly.

Other than his parents, Howard was preceded in death by his wife, the former Velma Shaffer, on October 23, 1996, they were united in marriage on January 18, 1958; and his seven siblings.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at 4:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, Ohio, where Pastor Aric Smith will celebrate Howard's life.

Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Saturday from 2:00 - 4:00 PM.

Following services Howard will be laid to rest next to his wife in Hillside Memorial Park, Akron.
