Jim was born and raised in Akron, Ohio where he spent 44 years of his life with his wife Camille and his children.
He proudly served his country in the Vietnam War with the U.S. Army.
Jim loved the outdoors and loved camping with his sister Debbie and family fishing outings with his daughters and grandchildren.
His almost daily routine was getting on his scooter and riding to the club for coffee and conversation with friends he'd met over the years.
Jim is proceeded in death by his father, James S. Goodwin, mother, Irene Goodwin, brother David Goodwin and the love of his life, his wife Camille Goodwin.
He is survived by his brothers, Kenneth (Dee), Richard (Sue), Donald (Becky), Joseph and his sister Deborah (John).
Holding him very close in their hearts are his daughters Gina (Dave), Tina (Bill), Wendy and his sons James Jr. and Brian (Angie)
He also leaves behind his adoring granddaughters, Katelyn (Will), Amanda (Steven), Alex, Sariah, Emma, Bella and grandsons James III, Camden and his great grandson Dakotah.
A memorial service will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home at 131 N.Canton Road in Akron, Ohio on November 21st, 2019 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.
