Michael M. Kugelman, 76, went home to be with the Lord on June 4, 2019. He grew up in Canton, OH attending Central Catholic HS, graduating in 1960. Mike served in the US Navy from 1963-67. He graduated from the University of Akron in 1971 with a BSEE in Electrical Engineering. Michael was an honorary member of Eta Kappa Nu and also a member of Sigma Tau. He became a registered Professional Engineer during his employment at BFGoodrich where he was employed for 33 years. Michael received 10 patents while at Goodrich and was responsible for over a hundred products for aircraft de-icing. He enjoyed golfing, table tennis, chess, hiking and was an avid reader. Michael loved tutoring others and enjoyed sharing his knowledge of mathematics. He continued to increase his skills by reading and taking courses after retirement. He was also a longtime member of Nativity Catholic Church.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Maxine Kugelman; brother, Patrick Kugelman; and sister, Barbara Kugelman. He leaves his loving wife, Carolyn; son, Matthew (Jaime) Brown; grandson, Aiden Brown; sisters, Nancy Baker, Kathleen Kugelman and Judy Yoho; brothers, John (Mau) Kugelman, Richard (Maureen) Kugelman and Larry Kugelman.
Visitation will be held from 11am-1pm on Monday, June 10 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Funeral service at 1pm. Interment at Greenlawn Cemetery, Uniontown, OH to follow.
