She was born on February 22, 1944 in Coeburn Virginia, to the late Gracie Mae Guess.
Edna worked as a Nurses Aide at Summa Akron City Hospital for 40+ years.
She enjoyed playing cards, watching her favorite soap opera “Young and the Restless”, a good cup of coffee and was a dedicated Steelers fan.
Above all, her greatest joy was spending time with family and friends.
Edna will be reunited with her Mother; Gracie Mae Guess, Sister; Aquilla “Candy” Guess and other friends and family who preceded her in death.
She will be cherished in memory by Daughters; Carla and Kim Brooks, both of Akron, Uncles; Rayfield James(Eula) Guess of Akron, Van Wesley (Dorothy) Guess of Cincinnati, Aunt; Lilly Guess of Akron, Special Cousin; James Guess of Akron, devoted companion Billy “Charles” Portis, and Grandchildren, Kimberly Brooks; Oneal (Kory) Brooks; Cameron (Tina) Brooks; Robert Brooks; Marquet (Carlissa) Brooks; and a host of Great-Grandchildren, family and friends.
Memorial services will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, Ohio on Friday, May 17, 2019 from 10AM - Noon.
