Charlotte (Warren) Hergenroder
1934-2019
Charlotte, better known as Aunt Pie, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2019, in the presence of her family and caregivers at the Gables of Green. Charlotte resided in Kent, Ohio and was preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, George (Don) Hergenroder; her parents, Rebecca and Ora Warren; and her sister, Donna (June) Humes.
Charlotte leaves behind a family who loved her so very much. She is survived by her sisters, Linda (Tom) Morrison and Evelyn (Bob) Nusbaum; brother Bill (Ruth) Warren; several nieces and nephews; and many great nieces and nephews.
Charlotte worked for BF Goodrich for 33 years and then retired to a full time job of being our sweet Aunt Pie. Being Aunt Pie requires a special skill set and the most important skill is thinking everything you say is interesting and everything you do is perfect! Being Aunt Pie means your sleepovers required slippers on your feet because her feet were cold and Twinkies for breakfast because why not! And later when you have kids, everything they do is even more perfect! Being Aunt Pie means you are there for all of the big and little events in life and you can’t wait to hear every detail about the next cute thing one of your kids said or did. Being Aunt Pie means just when you think there is no gas left in your tank, you perk up long enough to greet the people who love you with a smile and give them the hug they need to say goodbye.
We have been very lucky to have an Aunt Pie in our corner rooting us on all these years. Aunt Pie, your job is done. We are all going to be okay.
In addition to her family, Charlotte leaves behind a wonderful team of caregivers from the Gables of Green. Her family is deeply appreciative for the time and care these great people dedicated to Charlotte, especially as her time grew short.
Family will receive friends at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Rd. Akron, Ohio 44305 on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. to 1: 00 p.m. with a service immediately following. Procession to Standing Rock Cemetery in Kent to follow the service.
