In Memory Of
Gary Lee James, II
1976 - 2018

Gary Lee James, II, age 42, of Springfield Township, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 7, 2018. Gary was born on February 22, 1976 to Gary and Sheila James in Akron, Ohio. He was a longtime resident of Ravenna Ohio. Gary attended Springfield Schools and was a 1994 graduate of St. Vincent-St. Mary High School. He excelled in football, wrestling, and baseball. Gary has owned and operated his own construction company for over 20 years. Gary’s first love was God, secondly his granddaughter Suga’ Bug, and then his wife of 21 years. Gary cherished spending time with his children and his family.

Gary loved hunting, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, snow skiing, traveling with his wife, brother Bo and sister-in-law Jena. He loved being outdoors. Gary was known for his baseball hat collection, impromptu singing and dub-stepping. His playlist ranged from Native American flute music, bluegrass, 90’s R&B, gospel and thug rap.

If Gary had written this, he would have said, “I’m brand new!” (mic drop).

Gary is survived by his wife, Michelle (Ziler); children, Brandon (Alexis), Haley, Hunter, Leann, River; his beloved granddaughter Alaina (Suga’ Bug); parents; Gary and Sheila James; grandmother, Corene Miller; brother, Bo (Jena) James; sister, Stacey James of New York; nieces, Mariah James, J’Lynn James; nephew, Brody James; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins in the Akron, Atlanta and Colorado areas. Gary was preceded in death by his sister, Tanya James Keyes; his grandparents, Will Miller, Edward James and Wanda James; uncle, Willie Shelton.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday October 16, 2018 from 4-8pm at Faith Family Church, 8200 Freedom Ave NW, North Canton, OH where funeral services will be held on Wednesday October 17, 2018 at 12pm. Interment Glendale Cemetery.
